Gull
Commonly known as "Seagulls", gulls are medium to large birds found in coastal areas, lakes and rivers. They are usually white or grey, often with black markings on their heads or wings. Gulls are a ground nesting species existing in large, densely packed, noisy colonies.
Scavengers by nature, gulls are carnivores eating crabs, fish and other seafood. They will also eat garbage, field mice and insects.
Gulls are a highly intelligent, aggressive nusiance bird that has learned to coexist successfully with people and thrive in human habitats. Their guano can cause extensive structural damage due to uric acid buildup and can also be a health risk. |
